The checked pattern, featuring embroidery using the ‘Barba’〈バルバ〉technique, creates a dynamic impression
thanks to the bias cut. The hem has been deliberately left raw. The coloured threads become more prominent with repeated wear,
allowing you to enjoy the way the fabric ages over time. The fabric is washed after the embroidery has been applied.
The scuff marks created by the wash further enhance the character of this denim.
It is stretchy, easy to move in and lightweight.
As there are no sleeves to thread your arms through, you can slip it on in an instant.

This is a bespoke denim fabric created by a denim manufacturer and an embroidery craftsman, both based in Fukuyama.
The check pattern is created using the “ ‘ Barba‘ embroidery ※ ” technique.
Although similar treatments can be applied to standard denim, this fabric was developed with the aim of making the most of the “ ‘ Barba‘ embroidery ※ ” technique.
A key feature of this fabric is the use of woolly yarn in vibrant colours for the weft threads.
This results in a more vibrant appearance than standard denim. Furthermore, the woolly yarn also provides stretch.

This technique involves bending the tip of the needle, then stitching through the fabric from the reverse side
to pull the weft threads through to the front, thereby forming the pattern.
The name ‘Barba’ (Latin for ‘beard’) derives from the fact that the pattern resembles a beard.
