Practical Information for International Travelers

Entry/Exit System (EES):
The European Union plans to implement the Entry/Exit System (EES) in October 2025. This automated system will electronically record the entry and exit of non-EU travelers at the external borders of the Schengen Area.

ETIAS Travel Authorization:
The European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) is now scheduled for late 2026, with a transitional period of at least six months, making it mandatory by 2027. Travelers from visa-exempt countries, such as the United Kingdom, will need this authorization for short stays in the Schengen Area.
