‘A Tribute to Mizuno Katsunari, Lord of the Fukuyama Domain’ .
To commemorate the 400th anniversary of the construction of Fukuyama Castle (completed in 1622), our company handled every stage of the process, from design to sewing.
The illustrious history of Fukuyama denim began in the early Edo period, when Mizuno Katsunari encouraged the cultivation of cotton along the Fukuyama coast.
As a result, ‘Bingo Kasuri’, an indigo-dyed cotton fabric, became widely popular throughout the Edo period.
Later, during the Shōwa era (1926–1989), as denim products and jeans gained popularity in Japan,
many apparel-related companies in Fukuyama City transformed into manufacturing plants,
utilising their own advanced dyeing, weaving and sewing techniques, and Fukuyama City grew rapidly to become Japan’s largest denim-producing city.
This special denim armour was produced jointly by ‘Fukuyama Denim’ and denim-related factories in Fukuyama City.

The wirework was crafted by a wire artist.

A denim washing and finishing manufacturer based in Fukuyama City uses loop
knitting to produce its own products.
This shoulder pad was made using that technique.
