This fabric manufacturer uses a unique “Dan-ochibassen“〈段落ち抜染〉 technique to gradually fade the colours into a gradient, creating a rose pattern with a three-dimensional effect.

「Indigo discharge printing」 is a technique in which a pattern is created on fabric dyed with indigo dye by bleaching it.
It possesses characteristics entirely distinct from standard ‘pigment printing’ and is the most effective method for applying patterns to indigo-dyed fabrics, such as the ‘denim’ that is a regional resource of the Bingo area.
Due to the difficulty of the process, it was previously only possible to ‘bleach the pattern white’, making it extremely difficult to express multi-coloured patterns.

‘create diverse patterns using indigo’.

Fabric manufacturers have taken this a step further with an innovative development.
Using stencils numbered 2 to 4, they adjust the density of the dye removed from each stencil to create patterns using gradient-like colours.
