Established in 1994, Earth Protex™ is a pioneering materials science company dedicated to creating technology and low-impact solutions within the bio/circular eco-sphere. Our primary focus lies in bringing waste valorization technologies to scale, ensuring sustainable practices in various industries. Earth Protex™ is actively tackling the looming shortage of plastic bottle feedstock. While plastic bottle RPET is often considered a solution, it fails to address the textile and apparel industry's waste problem.
Tex2Tex® is a Textile-to-Textile recycling solution for pre and post-consumer 100% synthetic textile waste. Using our innovative TMR™ (Thermal Mechanical Reactor) the process converts synthetic cutting waste from clothing/footwear manufacturers and used garments into low-impact and cost competitive recycled fibers, yarns and finished fabrics. Tex2Tex® is GRS certified and follows some of the strictest RSL industry guidelines.
The data from our Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), proven by science-based methodology, that Tex2Tex® TMR™ thermo-mechanical process stands out for its minimal environmental footprint. It consumes significantly less energy and water, and emits far fewer carbon emissions compared to virgin PET and bottle RPET (both mechanical and chemical). Leveraging renewables such as biomass boilers and solar energy, our supply chain ensures sustainability from start to finish. Moreover, our Zero-Waste production system ensures that all solid waste generated during processing is recycled back into Tex2Tex® products, further minimizing environmental impact.
By harnessing economies of scale and valorizing underutilized waste streams, Tex2Tex® offers a low-impact solution that is cost-competitive with conventional PET and scaled production, enabling quick and scaled customer adoption. Earth Protex™ has curated an extensive range of value-added products through a network of trusted supply chain partners.
