Our commitment to sustainability

Building the future of fashion together

To face the great climate challenges of our times, the fashion industry is mobilised, innovative, inventive and reinventing itself, seeking to reduce its environmental footprint. Through manufacturing and sourcing processes that integrate circularity, traceability and sustainability, the commitment of key actors in the sector is driving the creation of tangible solutions to produce a more ethical and more responsible fashion.
Since 2015, Première Vision has been supporting these changes with its Smart Creation offer and informative content all year round in its online magazine.

→ In July 2023, Première Vision took a new step in its commitment to eco-responsibility with the launch of ‘a better way’, an initiative designed to provide a clearer understanding of responsible practices in fashion sourcing.

→ In 2026, Première Vision partnered with Paris Good Fashion to launch the Fibers & Materials Matrix, a shared compass designed to help better understand and compare fashion materials, while highlighting alternatives that address key environmental challenges.

THE FIBERS & MATERIALS MATRIX

PREMIÈRE VISION X PARIS GOOD FASHION

A shared compass for the materials of fashion

Qualifying each material against a common framework, for clear and comparable reading.

'a better way'

‘a better way’ provides a shared framework to help you better identify your suppliers’ responsible practices. Structured around five key areas, the programme guides your sourcing. Our objective: to give you the key points to explore for more responsible sourcing. To help you ask suppliers straightforward questions about their practices, products and value chains. Traceability, certified materials, circularity, production conditions: this new guide helps you identify the approaches that match your priorities and ask the right questions throughout your visit.

The five complementary themes of the ‘a better way’ programme

1 - Social initiatives Decent, safe and fair working conditions
2 - Impact of production sites Environmental management, energy, water, waste
3 - Traceability Full traceability of material origins
4 - Product composition & processes Certified materials, controlled chemical management, animal welfare
5 - Product cycle and end of life Circularity, recyclability, physical durability, reuse

A committed show

Première Vision’s approach to sustainability and innovation goes beyond its commitment to the Smart Creation platform and promoting its exhibitors’ sustainable offer. At the heart of Première Vision’s values, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is today based on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria to analyze and implement effective actions in terms of sustainable development.

Led by 3 main drivers – reduce, recycle & reuse –, Première Vision has implemented a series of initiatives and practices to anchor the company and its collaborators in a more globally eco-friendly approach to its events, to ensure that they are as eco-designed as possible:

An offer of stands that are 100% equipped and which can be reused
…from one session to the next, whose design takes into account sustainable choices in terms of materials, manufacturing, transport, storage and end of life.
Choice of LED lighting
...to optimise energy consumption.
Reducing the use of plastics
...using digital badges, clever signage, water bottles, etc.
Eco-designed forums
...with a smart choice and optimised use of materials, as well as guidance regarding best construction practices for better quality reuse of our structures.
More sustainable signage
...by abandoning the use of canvas in favor of an ecological support made from recycled plastic bottles, by using new generation adhesives with solvent-free glues and by improving the ink used on all materials.
Carpet recycling
...by collecting, folding and formatting carpets that are then shredded and transformed into granules for the plastics industry.
Materials reusing
...through a partnership with the muto event company for the reprocessing of furniture and materials used at its shows: structures of the fashion forums, decorations, carpets, etc.
Recycling of siding
...by using the shredded cotton to make insulating panels.
The sorting of wood, plastics, paper, cardboard
… entailing the processing of roughly 60 tons of waste.
Redistribution of sunsold food
...by partnering with VIParis, manager of the exhibition venues. Première Vision organises the daily recovery of unsold food from the show’s catering areas and redistributes it to food banks such as that of the Red Cross.
