Eco commitment

Building the future of fashion together

To combat the great climate challenges of our times, the fashion industry is mobilized, innovative, inventive and reinventing itself, seeking to reduce its environmental footprint. Through manufacturing and sourcing processes that integrate circularity, traceability and sustainability, the commitment of key actors in the sector is driving the creation of tangible solutions to produce a more ethical and more responsible type of fashion.

→ Since 2015, Première Vision has been accompanying these changes with its Smart Creation offer and informative content all year round in the Sustainability section of its online magazine.

→ In 2023, at the Première Vision Paris show in July, another eco-responsible milestone will be reached, thanks to a new tool for decoding the committed initiatives of the show’s exhibitors.

“a better way”

Season after season, the eco-responsible offer of the exhibitors at our shows continues to grow with new eco-designed product developments and technical innovations. In order to better understand this multiple offer and to facilitate your sourcing and search for committed partners, Première Vision deployed in July 2023 “a better way”, a new pictogram-based programme to be displayed on the stands of participating exhibitors and supported by 5 criteria:

The criteria determined by Première Vision and independent experts are based on labels and certifications selected for their strength on a global scale, including: GOTS, Bluesign®, Leather Working Group, Iso 14001, Ecolabel, Global Recycled Standard, Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Oeko-Tex STeP, European Flax, EMAS, SA 8000, Responsible Wool Standard, FSC® or the ZDHC programme.

OEKO TEX STeP

This initiative, which is intended to be positive and virtuous, will not involve any ranking or rating. It will be progressively deployed on a voluntary basis across all of Première Vision’s shows in 2024.

NEW! Première Vision Paris puts Fashion Tech in the spotlight by creating a new Smart Tech space in the Smart Creation Area, bringing together the best experts in digital innovation.

Artificial intelligence, blockchain technologies, traceability solutions, digitalization of materials, stock management, optimisation of costs and overproduction, 3D creation tools, trend data… a selection of the most advanced companies present their technological innovations during the 3 days of the show.

A bespoke sourcing circuit

Prepare your ethical sourcing before the show thanks to our visitor circuits designed to simplify your search for certified suppliers, manufacturers and experts offering the solutions you need for your future collections of sustainable fashion. You can discover these circuits online on the Première Vision Marketplace a few weeks before the show.

Once at the show, and also on the Première Vision Marketplace, you can easily identify the product developments corresponding to respectful environmental criteria thanks to the eco-responsible performance codes specially developed by Première Vision and the “a better way” pictograms.

NEW! The PV Paris show is setting up a deadstocks circuit to be followed online on the marketplace and on the show’s mobile application.

Participating exhibitors are presenting their deadstocks directly at their stands to give a second life to the product developments of previous seasons.

Dedicated content all year round

A committed show

Première Vision’s approach to sustainability and innovation goes beyond its commitment to the Smart Creation platform and promoting its exhibitors’ sustainable offer. At the heart of Première Vision’s values, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is today based on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria to analyze and implement effective actions in terms of sustainable development.

Led by 3 main drivers – reduce, recycle & reuse –, Première Vision has implemented a series of initiatives and practices to anchor the company and its collaborators in a more globally eco-friendly approach to its events, to ensure that they are as eco-designed as possible:

…from one session to the next, whose design takes into account sustainable choices in terms of materials, manufacturing, transport, storage and end of life.

to optimize energy consumption.

(badges, signage, water bottles…)

Choice and optimization of the use of materials; guidance regarding good construction practices for better quality reuse of the structures…

Abandoning the use of canvas in favor of an ecological support made from recycled plastic bottles; using new generation adhesives with solvent-free glues; improving the ink used on all materials.

Collected, folded, and formatted, carpets are shredded and transformed into granules for the plastics industry.

Première Vision has partnered with the muto event company for the reprocessing of furniture and materials used at its shows: structures of the fashion forums, decorations, carpets… Following the July 23 show, over 4 tonnes of wood and over 1 tonne of glass, metal and cardboard were reused.

The shredded cotton is used in to make insulating panels.

… entailing the processing of roughly 60 tons of waste.

In partnership with VIParis, manager of the exhibition venues, Première Vision organizes the daily recovery of unsold food from the show’s catering areas. It is then redistributed in a short circuit to food banks such as that of the Red Cross.
