Description
Gambiered Guangdong Silk, dyed exclusively with natural plant and mineral sources, represents 2,000 years of Chinese craftsmanship. Rediscovered and revitalized by TANGY Collection, this ancient dyeing technique is now applied not only to pure silk but also to blends with cotton, linen, silk and more. Each fabric undergoes over 30 cycles of immersion in the juice of wild Dioscorea Cirrhosa roots, sun exposure, and river mud coating, creating deep, rich colors, a black-and-brown finish, and a natural cracked pattern that makes every piece visually captivating and gentle on the skin.
In 1994, Liangzi founded TANGY and revived this traditional craft for sustainable fashion. Liangzi established the “Tangy Silk Garden” National Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Base and created the Gambiered Canton Silk Protection Foundation. In 2019, the “Maison Liangzi” boutique opened in Paris, and TANGY Collection was recognized by 1.618 as one of the world’s 15 sustainable luxury brands.
