Somelos is a leading Portuguese family-owned textile enterprise founded in 1958 under the name Sociedade Teixeira de Melo & amp, Filhos Lda., initially established to produce yarns and later on, cotton fabrics.In 1971, the company incorporated onto Indústrias Têxteis Somelos S.A. Not long thereafter, in 1974, the Dyeing and Finishing business areas were introduced and Somelos became a vertically integrated textile company, ranking amongst the country´s largest.
