Circular fashion
A fast-growing market

The circular fashion market in France could reach €14.2 billion by 2030, with an annual growth rate of 10%. By then, circular markets are expected to account for around 29% of the fashion industry, compared to 12% in 2022.

🧵 A Space Dedicated to Deadstock: Towards a More Circular Fashion Industry

Première Vision Paris, the unmissable event for fashion creation, has taken a new step in its commitment to a more responsible fashion industry by introducing, since February 2024, a dedicated space for deadstock. This initiative allows exhibitors to offer their unsold items (textile materials or leather) to visitors, promoting reuse as a complement to first-hand offerings.

👉 The “Deadstock” trail, available at the show and via the PV mobile app, highlights unused materials and gives them a second life.

🌱 Towards Committed Fashion

This initiative is part of a broader effort to support sustainability, building on existing features:

• 'a better way' signage: showcasing exhibitors’ sustainable commitments.
• Smart Creation area: featuring responsible sourcing players, innovative technologies, and sustainable services.
• Sustainable visitor trail: offering targeted guidance for buyers sensitive to environmental issues.

✂️ A New Creative Momentum

Designing with deadstock requires rethinking creative processes:

• Starting from the available dimensions or the technical specificities of the material.
• Embracing constraints as a source of inspiration.
• Developing unique collections with stronger storytelling and higher perceived value.

✂️ Reinventing Design Through Material

Integrating dormant stock into the creative process means reversing traditional design logic
👉 You no longer start with a pattern, but with the material at hand — its yardage, its technical properties.
This shift in perspective opens up a whole new field of artistic expression, whether for unique, precious, and rare pieces or for larger-scale productions thanks to substantial stock volumes.

🎨 A Constraint That Fuels Creativity

Designing within stock constraints:
• Encourages a tailor-made, inventive approach
• Adds uniqueness to each piece
• Imbues the product with strong narrative and emotional value

----------

💡 A Strategic Marketing and Business Choice

Rare = Desirable: each creation made from deadstock carries a sense of rarity that is highly valued by end consumers
Éco-conception intégrée : l’usage de stocks existants limite l’impact environnemental, dans un secteur en mutation réglementaire.
Visibilité accrue : intégrer des matières revalorisées vous positionne sur le segment de la mode circulaire, en forte croissance.
